This tender concerns the charter of fishing vessels (longliners and gillnetters) to conduct at-sea trials and observations of mitigation devices designed to reduce bycatch of non-target species. The National Museum of Natural History seeks qualified vessel operators to support scientific testing of fishing gear modifications.

Vessel operators must provide seaworthy fishing vessels equipped for longlining or gillnet fishing, with crews experienced in commercial fishing operations. Contractors must demonstrate capability to support scientific observers and follow protocol for controlled testing at sea.

Fishing vessel owners or maritime charter companies with operational longliners or gillnetters and experience conducting commercial fishing activities should apply. Prior involvement in marine research or bycatch mitigation projects is advantageous.
