Le Collège Pablo Neruda est le dernier collège à ossature métallique du Département datant de 1975.Le collège accueille 277 élèves à la rentrée scolaire 2023/2024 pour une capacité de 425 élèves. La SEGPA a fermé en 2019. Le collège est dans un état de vétusté avéré, les structures métalliques extérieures présentent des pathologies de corrosions. L'absence d'isolation thermique et la distribution du chauffage en monotube le rendent énergivore. La présence d'amiante dans tous les bâtiments (sol, mur, plafond, volet roulant, etc.) complique les travaux de maintien et de mise aux normes réglementaires nécessaires.
