RTE is the French Transmission System Operator, a public service company responsible for developing, maintaining and operating all electricity transmission assets in France, French territorial waters and the French exclusive economic zone, to the extent directly connected to the French transmission grid and for ensuring the secure supply of power. In this context, the responsibility for the connection of French offshore wind farms and European countries transmission grid to the French grid has been entrusted by the French government to RTE. In order for RTE to perform its duties, RTE intends to perform marine surveys on French coasts from project de-risking phases to maintenance phases. RTE is thus launching a qualification system for economic operators able to conduct marine surveys (“Qualification System”). The objective of this Qualification System is to identify and qualify economic operators with the technical expertise and resources necessary to carry out marine surveys along the export cable(s) and interconnector(s) corridors and/or in offshore substation areas. Only qualified suppliers will be invited to participate in upcoming competitive tenders for marine survey contracts related to RTE’s offshore needs.

This lot covers the execution of geophysical investigations along submarine cables corridors and/or within offshore substation areas from the operational nearshore limit, around 20m water depth (or as close as reasonably practicable depending on conditions) to the limits of the continental shelf. Geophysical investigations may include high-resolution bathymetry, seabed acoustic imagery, subsurface data using reflexion seismic (i.e sub-bottom profiler, ultra-high resolution seismic or equivalent), magnetic data and/or geophysical interpretation.

This lot covers the execution of geophysical investigations along submarine cables corridors and/or within offshore substation areas from the upper beach to approximately 20m water depth. Geophysical investigations may include high-resolution bathymetry, high resolution topography, seabed acoustic imagery, shallow subsurface data using reflexion seismic and refraction seismic, magnetic data and/or geophysical interpretation.

This lot covers the execution of geotechnical investigations along submarine cables corridors and/or within offshore substation areas up to approximately 6m below seabed and/or onshore ground, from the upper beach to the continental shelf.

This lot covers the execution of offshore geotechnical investigations within offshore substation areas up to approximately 70m below seabed.

This lot consists in carrying out potential UXO detection, identification and technical characterization along submarine cables corridors and/or in offshore substation areas, offshore, nearshore and/or on the landfall area. This lot does not include UXO disposal.

This lot consists in acquiring bathymetry & backscatter along submarine cable corridors and/or within offshore and nearshore substations; it may also include topography surveys in landfall areas.

This lot covers the execution of geophysical investigations to be performed offshore, nearshore and/or on the landfall area, including but not limited to high-resolution bathymetry, comparison between acquired data and as-built survey data provided by RTE and geophysical interpretation.

This lot covers the execution of visual investigations including data interpretation, to be performed offshore, nearshore and/or on the landfall area.

This lot consists in performing offshore and nearshore surveys to assess the exact position of submarine cables positions.
